Celebrate our Veterans for protecting the land we love.

cabela_logoAre you planning on spending time outdoors this weekend?

Friends please help Camp Ryan Adams  with this project if you can – it is meant to celebrate and thank those who have fought for our freedom and our ability to enjoy our nation’s outdoor places. You’ll probably be out hunting or fishing soon – take the time to read the documents and the assignment below and try to work it into your upcoming outing.

Cabela’s and Camp Ryan Adam’s is celebrating this Veterans’ Day with a film where people thank veterans for protecting America, the land we enjoy.

What we need is a selfie video (taken with your phone) of you saying
cabela_thankyou_selfieimage“Thank you for ______”, filled in with the nature you’re enjoying, while you’re enjoying it.
 For example, you could say:
“Thank you for this view.”
“Thank you for this stream.”
“Thank you for the sunset.”
“Thank you for the trees.”
“Thank you for the weekend.”

You can thank our Veterans for pretty much anything. Just make sure to capture in your video what you’re thanking them for—whether it’s a panoramic vista behind you, glorious bald eagles, a fish you’re reeling in, the rock face you’re climbing, etc.
You can also take a video of your friends/family and have them express their thanks.

To make sharing easy, we’ve attached step-by-step instructions. And also the required release forms.

Please send videos and release forms to veteransday2016@ogilvy.com by Oct. 5.

HOW TO TAKE A “THANK YOU” SELFIE VIDEO – PLEASE SUBMIT BY OCTOBER 5, 2016!

Thank you for helping us celebrate our Veterans for protecting the land we love.

• The basic idea is to create a personal thank you video with your phone.

• Each video should include a person or people on camera audibly saying “Thank You” for a landscape or outdoor activity—while at that landscape or doing that activity.

• Lastly, we’re seeking clips that feel real, not staged—like something you’d send to a friend. Think moment, not movie.

 STEP 1: GET THERE

Visit your scenic landscape. Or begin your outdoor activity.

 STEP 2: SET THE SCENE

Open your phone’s camera setting. Make sure you and your landscape or activity are both visible in the frame.

 STEP 3: SAYING THANK YOU

With the landscape or activity visible in frame, create three videos (include 1 line per video):

“Thank you.”

“Thank you for ________.”

“And for ______.”

For example, a hiker at the peak of a trail could say

“Thank you.”

“Thank you for this majestic view.”

“And for this majestic view.”

 STEP 4: TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Visibility – make sure your landscape or activity is visible in your video

Audio – make sure your voice is audible, whether you shout, speak or whisper

Be creative – you can thank Vets for birds, sunset, blue skies—as long as you’re sincere

STEP 5: SIGN THE RELEASE FORMS

Complete and sign the release forms, then take a picture of it with your phone.

STEP 6: SUBMIT YOUR VIDEOS BYOCTOBER 5!

Send your release forms, and your three thank you videos in the highest resolution possible to veteransday2016@ogilvy.com

Thanks for your time, Team Camp Ryan Adam’s and Cabela’s
