Adams, was on his second tour when he was killed. He was deployed with his unit in Iraq from May 2003 to April 2004.

Adams was among about 100 soldiers based in Rhinelander and Tomahawk who deployed in November to Camp Shelby, Miss., before reporting to Afghanistan. They were conducting road-clearing operations for the Army’s 101st Airborne Division.

RyanAdams_footballHe was a 2001 graduate of Rhinelander High School, where he played football, golf and baseball. School staff members said Friday that Adams was a hard worker who was respectful and always had time for people.
